Workshop application: Design Boot Camp for Community Newspapers

Are you new to the world of community newspaper design and visual journalism? Have you migrated to the news design profession and are a little bewildered as to how the technology, tools and tensions combine to produce crisp, clean, creative and striking presentations? Have your responsibilities been expanded to include designing and visual presentation or supervising those who do? Then sign up for an intense and inspirational design “boot camp” that will cover the fundamentals of design, layout, typography, ideation, information graphics, software strategies and online resources. Participants will have opportunities for hands-on sessions with Photoshop and Flash, brainstorming challenges, Q&A sessions and critiques of newspapers and projects sent in prior to the workshop. A great workshop for those with only one or two years in the news design profession.
